Media General, Inc. is an independent communications company with interests in newspapers, television stations and interactive media in the United States. The Company operates in three business segments: Publishing, Broadcast and Interactive Media. The Company owns 25 daily newspapers and more than 150 other publications, as well as 23 television stations. The Company also operates more than 75 online enterprises. In March 2008, the Company completed the purchase of DealTaker.com, an online social shopping portal. In May 2008, the Company and Morris Network, Inc. announced the completion of Morris Network's purchase of Media General's ABC television station WTVQ in Lexington, Ky.
